A wide twisted shackle is a specialized piece of rigging hardware that combines a 90-degree twist in the shackle body with an expanded, wider-than-normal jaw opening. It allows you to connect two pieces of hardware that sit perpendicular to each other without twisting, kinking, or forcing the attachment points. The added "wide" designation ensures it can slip over extra-thick plates, straps, or large hardware.
