A Marine Round Rail Base 60° is a heavy-duty hardware fitting designed for semi-upright structural angles on boats and yachts. Because it provides a steeper, more vertical pitch than 30° or 45° bases, it is the industry standard for securing bow rails, windshield handrails, side-deck safety lines, and primary Bimini top support frames.
These bases are engineered using investment-cast methods to handle significant physical leverage and environmental stress:

Marine Installation Guide
Prevent Set Screw Backout: Marine engine vibrations and heavy wave pounding can cause the tiny side set screws to back out over time. Always coat the hex screws with a medium-strength threadlocker prior to final tightening.
Isolate Dissimilar Metals: If you are screwing this 316 stainless steel base onto an aluminum boat hull or T-top frame, you must insert a non-conductive isolation gasket and coat fasteners with Tef-Gel. Direct contact between steel and aluminum will cause aggressive galvanic corrosion.
Bed with Polyurethane Marine Sealant: Water seeping through the fastener holes will eventually rot fiberglass core material. Apply a generous layer of marine sealant to the underside of the round base and inside the pre-drilled screw holes.
