Quick-Release Pull Pin: The hinge barrel holds a specialized pin with a small retaining clip. When you pull this pin out, the two halves of the hinge separate immediately. This lets you remove livewell lids, cooler tops, or console doors in seconds without unscrewing anything from the boat floor.
Elevated Pivot (Long Reach): The raised bridge design moves the hinge's pivot point upward and outward. This creates extra clearance, allowing heavy fiberglass hatch doors with thick weather-stripping or gaskets to open fully without pinching or jamming against the deck frame.
Surface Mount Configuration: The hinge has a wide base with 6 countersunk holes to spread out heavy weight loads. It mounts directly onto the top surfaces of your deck and hatch lid.
Investment Cast 316 Stainless Steel: It is made of solid, cast marine steel polished to a mirror shine. This ensures it will not rust or freeze up, even when constantly exposed to harsh saltwater and heavy foot traffic.
Project & Installation Tips
Fastener Choices: Use flathead, countersunk #10 or #12 stainless steel marine screws. Ensure the heads screw down perfectly flat so they don't catch on lines, nets, or bare feet.
Pin Direction: When installing this hardware on a vertical surface (like a cabin door or console hatch), try to mount the hinge so the pull-pin inserts from the top down. Gravity will help keep the pin safely in place even if the retaining clip gets bumped.
