Marine deck plates are generally selected by their clear opening diameter (the actual pass-through space) rather than the overall outer diameter:
• 4-Inch Model: Clear opening of approx. 100 mm; ideal for tight spaces to check small valves or reach inline switches.
• 6-Inch Model: Clear opening of approx. 150 mm; the most common size, allowing a hand to comfortably pass through to work on bilge lines or fuel connections.
