Structural Features & Design Principles
• Bowl Design (The Wide Flange): The distinctive inverted "bowl" or double-rim structure acts as a physical shield. When waves splash or heavy rain hits the deck, the bowl deflects water away from the ventilation openings, significantly reducing the risk of water splashing down into the fuel system.
• Ventilation Slots: The horizontal slots on the raised cylindrical cap allow air to flow freely. Inside this cap, there is a built-in stainless steel dual-mesh flame arrestor (screen). This screen fulfills legal boating requirements by preventing external sparks from igniting fuel vapor, while also blocking small insects (like mud daubers) from nesting inside and clogging the line.
• Full-Threaded Stem: The bottom section features a fully-threaded pipe that goes through the hull or deck. It is locked tight from the underside using an included rubber gasket and a brass/stainless hexagonal locknut.
