Marine Deck-Mounted Anchor Chain Stopper

  • Marine Deck-Mounted Anchor Chain Stopper
product description

Marine Deck-Mounted Anchor Chain Stopper (also commonly known as a windlass protector or chain lock). It is manufactured from highly polished, heavy-duty 316 marine-grade stainless steel to prevent corrosion from harsh saltwater environments.

Primary Purpose and Benefits

Relieves Windlass Strain: While your boat is resting at anchor, this device firmly grips the chain link, transferring the massive structural load of the boat directly to the deck. It protects your mechanical anchor winch (windlass) from internal gear damage caused by wave surges.

Holds the Anchor Securely: While the vessel is underway, it functions as a safety lock to prevent the anchor from accidentally deploying or shifting out of its bow roller.

Counter-Sunk Bolt Holes: The unit features heavy pre-drilled holes at the base so it can be securely through-bolted straight into the bow deck or fitted inside the channel of most bow rollers.

How It Operates

1,The Slot & Base: The anchor chain runs directly through the open middle channel of the frame.

2,The Flipping Pawl: The heavy metal flipper block in the middle drops down right into the chain path, catching an upright chain link to prevent it from slipping backward.

3,The Quick-Release Ring Pin: The cross-pin with a round pull ring is a secondary safety lock. You can slide it completely through the unit to lock the flipper pawl securely downward, ensuring the chain cannot jump out during rough sea states.
