• Flow Geometry (BISO): This model features a bottom-entry port and a side-exit port. Seawater enters vertically through the bottom base of the cylinder and exits horizontally out the side. This specialized layout is ideal for tight engine compartments where plumbing must run straight up vertically from a floor-mounted seacock.
System Integration Summary
Within the complete raw-water pipeline we have established, the assembly flows as follows:
1. Intake: Seawater passes through the hull scoop strainer outside the boat.
2. Control: It moves up through your safety seacock (flanged ball valve).
3. Filtration: It travels vertically straight into the bottom inlet of this BISO sea strainer. Inside, an internal basket filters out smaller weeds and particles.
4. Delivery: The filtered water exits the horizontal side port to feed your inline 2-piece ball valves or your main cooling equipment.
Design Highlights
• Four-Bolt Wing Nut Lid: Uses a swing-bolt and wing-nut configuration to clamp down the inspection lid, providing easy, tool-free access to clean out the basket.
• Corrosion Protection: Includes a side-mounted screw connection that serves as a bonding/grounding stud to tie the stainless steel filter housing into your boat’s sacrificial anode system.
