Our Swage T Anchor Fitting is designed to be hidden inside metal posts. They are ideal for the top or bottom of stair runs or posts that are atthe end of a railing that you might see. Because it hides entirely inside the end post, creating a clean, minimalistic profile with no visible external nuts or washers. It is highly favored by architects and DIYers. How the System Works
Because a Swage T Fitting is a fixed, non-tensioning terminal, it cannot tighten the cable by itself. To build a functional railing, it must always be paired with a tensioning hardware piece on the exact opposite side of the cable run:
Fixed End: Swage T Anchor Fitting (hidden inside Post A).
Tensioning End: A Swage Threaded Terminal, Hex Head Tensioner, or Hidden Thread Tensioner (inside Post B).
Installation Steps
Insert & Swage: Push your raw cable end fully into the hollow cylinder barrel of the T-anchor. Use a hydraulic or hand-swaging crimping tool to permanently compress (crimp) the metal around the cable.
Angle Adjustment: If using the cable for a stair run, slightly bend the cable right at the exit point of the fitting barrel to accommodate the stairs' pitch.
Feed & Click: Feed the unattached side of the cable all the way through your intermediate posts. Push the T-anchor into the pre-drilled hole of your starting end post until the "T" head catches the internal wall.
Tension: Move to the opposite end post and pull the cable taut using your chosen threaded tensioner tool.
