Swivel Jaw Snap Shackle
A swivel jaw snap shackle is a quick-release rigging connector that features a spring-loaded plunger pin and an open-ended lower bracket (jaw) that rotates a full 360 degrees.
The defining feature of this shackle is its removable clevis pin (or cotter pin) across the lower jaw. Unlike a swivel eye shackle (which has a solid, closed ring requiring you to permanently splice or knot a line onto it), a swivel jaw shackle can be easily unbolted, slipped onto an existing metal loop, chain, block, or pre-spliced line, and then pinned shut.

Key Characteristics & Mechanics
Removable Clevis Pin: The lower "jaw" opens up when you remove its retaining pin (typically held in place by a cotter pin or key ring). This allows for easy attachment and removal from hardware or pre-made line loops without having to cut the rope.
360-Degree Rotation: The jaw assembly spins independently from the shackle body along a heavy-duty mechanical pivot. This continuous rotation automatically adjusts to shifting loads and prevents cables, ropes, or cords from twisting and tangling.
Quick Release Under Tension: Just like other snap shackles, it has a spring-loaded plunger pin. Pulling the attached split ring instantly snaps the hook open, even when the line is under a heavy load.
