Fixed Snap Shackle
A fixed snap shackle is a heavy-duty, quick-release rigging connector featuring a spring-loaded plunger pin and a rigid, non-rotating attachment eye (bail).
Unlike swivel variants, the two main parts of this hardware are formed as one solid, continuous piece of metal. Because it lacks a swivel joint, it prevents connected ropes or lines from twisting or spinning.Key Characteristics & Mechanics Fixed Eye (Bail):
The bottom loop is fully integrated into the shackle body. This adds rigidity, reduces moving parts, and creates a stronger connection point.
Quick Release Plunger: The locking mechanism consists of a spring-loaded pin. You pull a split ring (often attached to a lanyard) to snap the shackle open instantly, even while it is under a heavy load.
High Strength-to-Weight: Eliminating the swivel joint makes fixed snap shackles significantly stronger and lighter than their swiveling counterparts.

Common Applications
Fixed snap shackles are primarily used in marine running rigging and tactical environments where line twisting is not required or must be avoided:
Sailboat Rigging: Ideal for connecting halyards, genoa sheets, boom lines, backstays, and topping lifts.
Static Loads: Perfect for any application where lines must remain in a stable alignment without spinning.
Because they are subjected to harsh environments, they are manufactured using highly durable materials.
