A marine grade D-ring is a heavy-duty, D-shaped metal fastener built to resist severe rust and saltwater corrosion. It features one flat side and one curved side, making it ideal for securing straps and webbing flat against a surface without twisting.
Key CharacteristicsThe Material: True marine-grade D-rings are made from Type 316 stainless steel to withstand harsh marine environments.
The D-Shape: The flat bar keeps webbing or straps perfectly aligned, while the curved side accepts hooks, ropes, or carabiners.
Construction: They can be welded (fused solid for high strength) or unwelded (for light-duty attachment), and often come attached to a flat metal mounting plate called a clip or pad eye.
