C Link

  • C Link
product description

A C-link (also known as a C-clevis, chain repair link, or split link) is a C-shaped metal connector with an open gap on one side, used to quickly join two chains, ropes, or loops together.Once the items are threaded into the link, the open gap is closed or secured to prevent them from slipping out.

Types of C-Links and How They Close

Hammer-Closed / Rivet Style: A soft metal link where you physically hammer the open prongs shut or peen a rivet over the gap. This creates a permanent, high-strength connection used for lifting or heavy chains.

Threaded / Quick Link Style: Features a threaded sleeve that screws over the opening. This allows the link to be opened and closed repeatedly without tools.

Interlocking / Split Style: Two identical C-shaped pieces that slide and lock together to form a complete, solid loop.

Common Materials

Marine Grade (316 Stainless Steel): Used on boats, docks, and anchor lines because it completely resists saltwater rust and corrosion.

Galvanized Steel: Coated in zinc for excellent weather resistance; the standard choice for playground swings and outdoor utility chains.

High-Test Carbon Steel: Heat-treated and painted (often yellow or red) for industrial rigging and heavy-duty towing applications.
