Installation & Buying Tips
Measure the Tubing precisely: Do not guess between 7/8" and 1" tubing, as they look very similar. Use a caliper to measure the outside diameter (O.D.) of your existing rail.
Use Threadlocker: The base contains internal hex set screws to clamp the stainless tubing. Due to constant engine vibration and wave impact, apply a medium-strength threadlocker (e.g., Loctite 242) to prevent them from backing out.
Marine Sealant is Mandatory: When screwing the base into fiberglass or wood deck cores, always apply a marine-grade bedding compound (like 3M 4000UV or 5200) to the bottom and inside the screw holes to prevent water intrusion and deck rot.
