Swage Lag Screw Terminal
These are swage lag screw terminals for cable railing systems, specifically designed for installation into wood posts. They provide a modern, "invisible" look for deck and stair railings by allowing cables to be anchored and tensioned without large, bulky turnbuckles.
Key Features
Opposing Threads (L & R): The image shows a Left-hand (L) and Right-hand (R) thread pair. By using these on opposite ends of a single cable run, you can rotate the cable itself to tighten the system without it unwinding or twisting.Material: Most are crafted from T316 marine-grade stainless steel, making them highly resistant to corrosion in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Compatibility: They are commonly sized for 1/8" or 3/16" diameter stainless steel cables.

How They Work?
Preparation: One end of the cable is inserted into the hollow tube end of the terminal and secured using a hydraulic swaging (crimping) tool.
Mounting: The threaded lag screw portion is driven into a pre-drilled pilot hole in a wooden post.
Tensioning: Because of the opposing threads at each end, turning the cable in one direction simultaneously draws both screws into their respective posts, pulling the cable taut.
