Stainless Steel Wire Rope Swage Stud Threaded Terminal A swage stud threaded terminal is a heavy-duty mechanical hardware component used to permanently attach a threaded bolt ending to the tip of a wire rope or aircraft cable. It serves as an ultra-secure anchoring and tensioning point. This allows users to tighten or lock the cable assembly into walls, metal posts, or specialized rigging equipment. How It Works? The Swage End: One side of the terminal features a hollow, deep bore sleeve. The bare wire rope is inserted into this opening. Heavy external pressure is then applied using a manual crimper or a hydraulic swaging machine. This process permanently crushes and cold-forms the metal sleeve directly onto the steel strands. The Threaded End: The opposing side consists of a solid, threaded rod (or stud). It passes through anchor plates, posts, or turnbuckles. It is tightly secured using washers and hex nuts. Common Industry Applications Architectural Cable Railing: Creates modern, minimalist, and near-invisible balustrades. These are commonly used on backyard decks, balconies, and indoor staircases. Marine Rigging: Secures stay lines, lifelines, and guard rails on sailboats and ocean-faring yachts.
