The European Type Open Body Turnbuckle with Jaw and Jaw—is an open-frame tensioning device featuring a closed fork (jaw) and pin on both ends.Because the jaws are secured with bolts or pins and cotter pins, they provide a completely locked, permanent connection that cannot accidentally slip out, even under slack or high-vibration conditions. This makes the jaw-and-jaw configuration the strongest, safest, and most secure style among open-body turnbuckles.

End Fittings: Dual jaws (also called forks or clevises). Each jaw features a removable pin secured by a nut or cotter pin, allowing direct connection to eye bolts, chains, or pad eyes.

Tensioning Action: Left-hand threads on one jaw, right-hand threads on the other. Rotating the open body draws both jaws together to tighten the assembly.

Structural Advantage: Delivers inline, straight-line tensioning while preventing the cable or attachment point from releasing unexpectedly.

This particular type of stainless turnbuckle is designed for use in boat rigging, securing masts with guy ropes and many other engineering and commercial applications. These robust devices consist of a central threaded body with jaw-style fittings at each end, enable secure attachment and precise tension adjustment. The jaws on either end are simply attached to shackles, wire ropes, pad eyes and other connectors.

The adjustable nature of these turnbuckles means you can fine-tune the tension after installation, and can be regularly checked and re-adjusted as necessary.

Made from 316 grade stainless steel for optimum corrosion protection. Our stainless rigging screws with jaw ends come in a range of sizes from M5 to M20 and various length adjustments. The amount you can adjust each screw by will be dictated by the size chosen.
