Marine Double-Foot Large Folding Mast Step (commonly categorized as a heavy-duty dual-mount transom folding pedal step). Unlike standard single-arm mast steps, this extra-wide version features a trapezoidal dual-hinge step frame supported by two independent mounting bases to comfortably accommodate both feet or provide an oversized platform for climbing under heavy loads.
Key Hardware Design Details
Oversized Dual-Base Construction: Built with two side-by-side folding hinges, providing immense structural stability compared to single-mount options. This design effectively prevents twisting or bending under intense corner pressure.
Trapezoidal 4-Window Grid: Features an integrated windowed grid style that keeps the hardware exceptionally lightweight while creating a naturally non-slip, self-draining stepping pad.
High-Action Internal Springs: Both hinge pivots are equipped with heavy-duty internal stainless steel spring plates. These snap and lock the platform firmly into position when extended or stowed flat against a mast, entirely eliminating rattling noises from wind or diesel engine vibrations.
Aggressive Safety Profile: The main step ring features a detailed diamond tread pattern to offer secure shoe-sole friction in stormy, wet conditions.
Saltwater Shielding: Solid-cast from 316 marine-grade stainless steel, polished to a bright mirror finish to combat severe galvanic corrosion and pitting.
