Marine DIN766 stainless steel anchor chain is a calibrated, short-link metric chain specifically designed to feed smoothly into a boat's anchor windlass gypsy without slipping.
Material Grades for Marine Environments
AISI 316 / 316L (A4 Marine Grade): The standard and most common material for marine anchor chains. It features added molybdenum, which prevents pitting and crevice corrosion caused by saltwater and harsh chemicals.
Duplex / Super Duplex (e.g., AISI 318LN): Used for high-end or commercial vessels. These chains offer twice the tensile strength of standard 316 stainless steel and are highly resistant to stress corrosion cracking, especially in warm tropical waters exceeding 30°C.

Core Benefits
Smooth Windlass Operation: As a "calibrated" short-link chain, every single link is precision-tested to ensure a seamless pass through metric windlass gypsies, stopping jams or slips.
Excellent Cleanliness & Stacking: Unlike galvanized steel chains, stainless steel does not produce white rust or shed zinc flakes. It flakes cleanly into your chain locker without forming a "cone" or nesting into a tangled pile.
High Aesthetic Appeal: Typically finished with a high tumble or mirror polish, it complements luxury yachts and clean deck profiles.
Key Specifications & DimensionsThe DIN766 standard outlines precise dimensional tolerances. The critical measurements required for a perfect fit inside your windlass are the wire diameter (d), inside length/pitch (t), and outside width (b₂)
